Radiculopathy
Radiculopathy is a term for pain that radiates into the arms or legs as a consequence of a nerve root becoming irritated or compressed. It is different than a referred pain in that it can radiate — a referred pain does not come from a nerve root.
For example,
Anything that can cause compression of a nerve root can cause radiculopathy.
Disc Bulges
Disc Herniations
Disc Ruptures
Prolapsed Discs
Foraminal Stenosis
Spinal Stenosis
Fact Arthropathy
… can all lead to radicular pain or radiculopathy.
Fortunately, for most of these conditions, there is a therapy that we provide that gives you excellent results. It’s called Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.
Non-surgical spinal decompression allows us to reduce the compressive force on the disc, allowing us to reduce disc herniations, disc bulges, facet arthropathy, and degenerative disc disease helping to increase a discs size and restore normal function to the disc. This can remove the pressure on pinched nerves causing radiculopathy and thereby reducing and eliminating the pain caused by them.
In addition, we perform many other advanced therapies designed to improve strength and mobility to your spine hips and neck to reduce the likelihood of re-injury. Non-invasive, non-surgical decompression should always be tried before surgery, after a proper neurological examination has been performed to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. There will likely be many other specialized services performed and or taught to you to help you recover your lost function as a result of your radiculopathy.
