Diabetes & Blood Sugar Disorders

Diabetes is a condition of blood sugar dysregulation and uptake. Most people are aware of 2 types, but there are now four classifications: Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, and Type 3.

Type 1 Diabetes

is an autoimmune condition where the cells in the pancreas designed to produce insulin are being destroyed by the immune system. In general, the hormone insulin has two jobs in your body, the first is to bring sugar from your blood into the cells of your body to be used for energy, and the other is to store fat. So type 1 diabetics have high blood sugar levels because they don’t produce insulin, and they tend to be skinny.

Type 2 Diabetes

is a condition developed by poor lifestyle habits over time. It is a condition where you will have insulin surges or spikes in relation to meals, and this excess insulin blocks the receptors designed to open and allow glucose (sugar) into your cells, this excessive insulin also leads to increased weight gain, and a host of other issues as well that stem from this.

Type 3 Diabetes

is an extension of type 2 whereby the research now indicates that prolonged periods of insulin surges are leading to Alzheimer's.

Type 1.5 Diabetes

also known as latent autoimmune diabetes in adults, it has some of the hallmarks of type 2 diabetes, but also is an autoimmune type of diabetes.

The flip side of these conditions is hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. If you get irritable, nervous, to have difficulty concentrating if meals are skipped, then you may be suffering from hypoglycemia.

Blood sugar regulation is another critical factor in proper brain health and normal cell function.  If you are either a diabetic or pre-diabetic then it is imperative to get this under control. The American Diabetes Associations says that irreversible damage occurs in the pre-diabetic stages, let alone what occurs in once you have been formally diagnosed. Diabetes is the number one cause of non-traumatic limb amputation, and those with diabetes are 40-60% more likely to have a heart attack or stroke. If you are suffering with this then please allow us to help you get this under control and help you get your life back and avoid the tragic consequences of this disease. We do this without medication or surgery!
